What we do

Help us empower communities by providing education, clean water, and hope

Some of the ways we support communities to change lives for children in rural West Africa

Through education, clean water, health initiatives, and sustainable development projects, we offer a glimmer of hope. We empower these children to rise above their circumstances, to dream bigger, and to rewrite their stories.

Clean Water Saves Lives

Clean Water Saves Lives

Clean water is fundamental for good health. Without it, children are at risk of waterborne diseases like cholera, dysentery, and typhoid. These diseases can be severe, even fatal, and they create a perpetual cycle of sickness and missed opportunities. The need for clean water is the most urgent.
Girl Empowerment

Girl Empowerment

Our aim is to improve Menstrual Hygiene Management amongst adolescent girls in the village of Abenta and surrounding hamlets. Break the taboo around the menstrual cycle amongst the local community
Tech2Teach

Overnight schools closed in Ghana during the coronavirus pandemic with little other support offered. Rural African children rely on school for access to basic needs such as water, sanitation and sometimes food. The school closures also put children at increased risk of exploitation, child labour, or early marriage. Without the protective environment of school, children were more vulnerable to abuse or exploitation.
Clean Hands Saves Lives

Clean Hands Saves Lives

We encourage school children to wash their hands with soap after going to the toilet and before they eat. This is proven to be the most effective way to stop children needlessly suffering and to save lives. We work with the Ghana Education Service to deliver theses programs that reach not only the school children but dept into the communities we work in.
Volunteering in West Africa

Volunteering in West Africa

We take around 50 volunteers a year out to West Africa. Volunteers are involved in many projects in Ghana. From building schools, health clinics, and toilet blocks, to teaching English or coaching the football team. It's a life-changing experience for our volunteers and the communities they help.
Early Years Education

Early Years Education

We have build 3 pre-schools for the under 4’s. Village by Village runs these schools that prepare the children to move into the kindergarten class and begin the start of their education. We run a feeding project to support and encourage attendance. The children learn basic numbers and songs. It is a very popular volunteering opportunity.

We are sometimes asked to build a new school by a community in poverty because the nearest Primary or Junior High School is too far away for their children to walk back and forth plus their chores and their homework. In some cases it is not practical due to the catchment area or estimated school population to build a new school. In these cases we provide and maintain a push bike for children living far from a school. We find this a cost effective way to keep pupils in schools in the more remote villages.
Digging Wells and Boreholes

Digging Wells and Boreholes

In the heat of the African summer in May 2006 we completed our first well to bring clean drinking water to a remote rural village living in poverty of approximately 300 people.
Building Information Centres

Building Information Centres

In January 2007 the footings of a 300-seater information centre were laid in the remote village of Gboloo Kofi in Ghana, Africa. Building was completed by March 2008. The centre is the source of information to all the surrounding villages bringing messages of health, hygiene, sanitation and family planning.
Building School Toilet Blocks

Building School Toilet Blocks

2,000 children die each day in Africa because of a lack of clean water and access to basic sanitation. So we build toilets to reduce those deaths and educate children, teachers and the community about issues of hygiene and sanitation.
Building Health Clinics

Building Health Clinics

The information centre we built in January 2007, was converted into a community Health Clinic with nurse accommodation and became our first clinic build. Since then we have completed many clinics by successfully working in partnership with the Ghana Health Service, they provided the nurses and drugs whilst we build the building in collaboration with the nurses that will be using it and the communities it will serve.
Building Schools

Building Schools

We want Africa to be led by educated leaders. Education transforms lives. For most of Africa’s children, education represents the only way out of a life of entrenched poverty. No other investment has such a lasting effect as the education of children. We reach into the communities, we work together with the community to build the best possible building we can that will last a long time.

Since 2006 we have helped over 30,000 people living in poverty
